How do I write a dispute letter?

Write a letter stating you are a victim of identity theft regarding the debt that is being collected or that is on your credit report. Your letter should include your name, account number, the amount of the debt, and an explanation of why you believe you are a victim of identity theft. Include a copy of the police report, FTC Identity Theft Affidavit and other supporting documents with the letter. Keep a copy of the letter and attachments you send.
