CACH, LLC faced allegations of false and deceptive debt collection practices. The plaintiff, who had satisfied a judgment in full back in 2012, was stunned when CACH renewed the judgment in 2021 and demanded over $7,000 through collection letters.
Despite providing official documentation, including a satisfaction of judgment, CACH and its partner, Resurgent Capital Services, continued unlawful debt collection efforts. Those efforts included collection letters from Resurgent Capital Services.
The collection demands caused emotional distress for the plaintiff. The case, Cardenas v. Resurgent Capital Services L.P., and CACH LLC.,, Case No. 22-cv-07504, was filed in the United States District Court, Central District of California. Plaintiff was represented by the Law Office of Balam O. Letona, Inc.
