MIB, Inc. (formerly the Medical Information Bureau) is a member-owned organization that collects and shares medical information with life, health, disability, and long-term care insurance companies. Its purpose is to help insurance companies verify the accuracy of information provided by applicants and reduce the risk of fraud. MIB doesn’t store full medical records, but it does keep coded information related to medical conditions, dangerous hobbies, and other factors that could affect insurance eligibility. You can request a copy of your MIB report once every 12 months for free. Call 866-692-6901. If an error appears on your MIB report contact us.
